This is a quick receiver configuration for BETAFPV F3 FC with OSD and no Rx integrated version. The external UART2 interface could support serial signal (like SBUS, IBUS etc) input. But need some configurations.


PPM input

The external PPM interface support PPM input. If you use this PPM port as signal input, only need to set the PPM receiver mode in Betaflight GUI.


Sereial input (SBUS/IBUS/...)

If you want the UART 2 port support serail input (like SBUS, IBUS etc), you should configure it to serial port in Ports tab. Then click the Save and Reboot button in the lower right corner.


Secondly, in the Configuration tab, for Receiver Mode, choose Serial_based receiver (SPEKSAT, SBUS, SUMD); Serial Receiver Provider, choose the according serial protocol, like SBUS / IBUS .... And click the Save and Reboot button in the lower right corner.

For example, if you connect a Flysky RX2A Pro Receiver with the IBUS protocol, you should select the IBUS as Serial Receiver Provider.


Alienwhoop F4 V2

Alienwhoop F4 V2 board supports most serial external receivers via UART3. Officially supporting FrSky XM and XM+ (SBUS), LemonRX DSM2 and DSMX (SBUS), and FlySky FS-A8S (iBUS) satellites. 


F4 doesn't have builtin inverter and the Alienwhoop F4 V2 board doesn't have it either. So we need to modify the receiver. Know more about the inverted signal on STMF4 in Oscarliang's blog.


Frsky XM

Here is the connection diagram of Frsky XM and Alienwhoop F4 V2 board.

Configure UART3 to serial port in Ports tab. Then click the Save and Reboot button in the lower right corner.


Secondly, in the Configuration tab, for Receiver Mode, choose Serial_based receiver (SPEKSAT, SBUS, SUMD); Serial Receiver Provider, choose the according serial protocol, like SBUS / IBUS .... And click the Save and Reboot button in the lower right corner.
